Hearth & Home Technologies(TM) Partners With Wolfmotell to Give Consumers Access to 500,000 Fireplace Design Combinations

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers can now design their dream fireplace, stove or insert in showrooms or on the Web with the new interactive tool called Hearth by Design. With more than half a million possible design combinations, everyone can create a unique customized design.

Hearth & Home Technologies partnered with Wolfmotell to define, design and develop an easy way for customers to create their own custom fireplace, stove or insert.

Branded user experience simple, yet comprehensive.

Hearth by Design allows consumers, retailers, architects, interior designers and homebuilders to browse fireplaces, stoves and inserts based on décor style or practical factors like wall space and fuel type. Every element can be customized -- from mantels to stone facing, materials to finishes and wall colors to floor coverings -- with a few mouse clicks.

As users customize their options, they are presented with a vivid representation of the fireplace, stove or insert that updates with each selection they make. Users can print a full-color "personal brochure" detailing their creation, and use the dealer locator tool to take the next step in making their dream design a reality.

When used in retail locations, the tool helps bring sales representatives closer to meeting their customers' needs. Additionally, dealers can customize the tool to display select brands, set pricing and account for special offers and promotions.

With web-based reporting, Hearth & Home Technologies can identify what products, styles and features are most popular as they plan for inventory, product development and promotions.

Technology provides enterprise platform.

Hearth by Design currently consists of two unique editions, optimized for specific audiences and usage. Wolfmotell developed both editions to share a common user interface, data structure and update management system. This approach allows Hearth & Home Technologies to continually refine and expand their product offering.

The tool is designed to manage a variety of information and exceptions to create each custom unit. A unit can consist of over 20 unique product components, up to 15 unique graphics layered to create a visual composite and an update manager that checks for software updates daily and installs them when they become available.

The partnership between Hearth & Home Technologies and Wolfmotell extends into 2008 with updates to the existing editions as well as the development of two new editions and a robust admin tool. Since the official launch this fall, the web-based edition has averaged nearly 30,000 sessions each month.
