Delaware County, Pa., Residents Gear Up to Celebrate Unveiling
of Home-Technology Makeover Powered by Verizon FiOS
PHILADELPHIA -- Oct. 11, 2007
/ A Delaware
County, Pa., couple -- owners of a contracting business and
parents of three active boys -- will return to their Thornton
residence for the unveiling of a complete home-technology
makeover provided by Verizon.
The unveiling, to be filmed
as part of the reality TV show "My Home 2.0," will take place
on Saturday, Oct. 13, in an atmosphere filled with food, fun
and prizes for the community. Three technology gurus have been
busily analyzing, designing and overhauling the Irvings' home
with Verizon's revolutionary FiOS Internet and TV services,
along with a host of high-tech gear. While the gurus have been
working, flyers placed in area shopping centers, gas stations
and at local universities have been creating a buzz around
town for the Oct. 13 block party. Media members are encouraged
to stop by the press tent and file their stories from their
laptops and experience the speed of a Verizon FiOS Internet
connection.

BACKGROUND: Verizon announced
on Sept. 5 it was sponsoring an innovative television series,
"My Home 2.0," to show families how they can realize the full
potential of technology to improve their lives. The Irvings
are the second of five Pennsylvania winners of a "My Home 2.0"
technology transformation. "My Home 2.0" will premiere this
fall on network affiliates in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, as
well as on Verizon FiOS Video-on-Demand.
