The Regus Group
Introduces New Business Lounge Concept in U.S.

Growing number of
on-the-move business professionals now have a 'third
place' to meet, get work done

CUPERTINO, Calif.,
April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Regus Group , the world's
largest provider of workplace solutions, today opened
the doors to its first Regus Business Lounge in the
United States. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley in
Cupertino, Calif., the Regus Business Lounge is a new
"third-place" concept that combines the resources of a
state-of-the-art business center with the relaxing,
communal environment of a coffeehouse. It offers mobile
workers a comfortable, professional working environment
complete with a gourmet coffee bar, different types of
workspaces and meeting facilities, and productivity
tools that include computers, secure Wi-Fi Internet
access at no additional charge, and high-definition
videoconferencing capabilities.
With an easy-to-access store-front setting, the 3,300
square-foot Regus Business Lounge offers outdoor patio
seating and a contemporary interior specially designed
to fit the work patterns of today's mobile workers who
want flexibility in where and how they work. Inside,
professionals will find:
-- Helpful, friendly and professional staff. Concierges
will check business professionals into the space and
ensure that they have everything they need to be
productive.
-- A variety of workplace options. Open lounge areas
feature comfortable seating, while signature ThinkPods
provide a more private workspace for individual workers.
Five state-of-the art meeting rooms are equipped with a
whiteboard, plasma monitors and videoconferencing
equipment. Private ready-to-work offices are also
available.
-- Business and refreshment bars. Two business bars are
lined with Internet-ready computers. Free, unlimited,
freshly brewed gourmet coffee is available, while meals,
healthy snacks, and other refreshments can be purchased.
-- Printing center and library. The printing center
offers free black-and-white copies with the ability to
print from a PDA, along with low rates on color copies,
color printing and binding. "Recharge" lockers allow
clients to securely store and charge electronics, and
the business library offers current news publications to
help keep busy professionals informed.
Recent research supports the need for this type of
convenient, more flexible work environment. According to
market research firm In-Stat, the number of U.S. mobile
workers -- such as frequent travelers, telecommuters and
non-office workers -- will reach 103 million this year
-- a 31 percent increase over the last four years. By
the end of 2011, IDC expects 73 percent of the U.S.
workforce to be mobile.*
"Our Business Lounge offers a retreat of sorts for
professionals who've grown tired of busy coffee shops,
dogs barking outside of the home office, or trying to
meet with clients in not-so-private settings," said
Guillermo Rotman, chief executive officer of The Regus
Group Americas. "Our clients have clearly voiced the
need for a more professional place to stop in and work
that allows them to be more productive while on the road
-- providing privacy when they need it, a place to print
out materials, and different spaces to meet with
clients. Our new Regus Business Lounge is the only space
of its type that addresses all of these needs in an
affordable store-front setting."
With a European-inspired design, modern lighting, and
shelves with decorative touches, the Lounge offers a
communal, peaceful environment. Some of the other
features offered in the fully equipped and furnished
space include flat-screen televisions with live
financial and news channels, and business and travel
accessories for purchase.
"Regus' Business Lounge provides the final piece of the
puzzle that mobile workers like me have been missing --
a professional office environment that's conveniently
located and available on demand," said Andy Abramson,
founder and CEO of Comunicano, Inc., and a frequent
business traveler. "Regus helps my company operate as a
virtual firm with no central office, allowing us to put
more money into our people. The Regus Business Lounge is
one more tool I'll use to get work done during my
frequent trips to Silicon Valley."
Michael Haas, director of Regus' Business Lounge
product, notes that "as the way we work continues to
change and more people work outside of a conventional or
home office, one of the biggest challenges they face is
finding a 'third place' where they can remain productive
while on the go. The Regus Business Lounge was designed
specifically to allow busy professionals to work,
connect, and recharge, and Silicon Valley, which is one
of world's largest business hubs, is the ideal setting
for our first store-front location in the U.S."
Regus will continue an international rollout of the
Business Lounge concept with plans to introduce new
locations in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.
