Designer Showcase/ -- Black Interior Designer Showcase (BIDS)
www.blackinteriordesignrs.com, an interior designer networking
organization is assisting HGTV’s Pie-Town Productions in a casting
search for its popular show, "My House Is Worth What?"
“We are very excited to broaden our scope of professional networking
to HGTV and other networks who are actively engaged in diversity
initiatives, ” said BIDS founder Alicia Valair. “We also encourage
Hispanic and Asian designers to join our network, which is evolving
into a multi-cultural designer network and will most probably be
renamed to reflect our membership.”
Casting for television networks and other media is seen
as an important aspect of BIDS’ future. Two notable members of the
BIDS Advisory Council are: Jack Travis, FAIA, NOMA, an HGTV
TrendSmart Advisor and Marsha Kelly, an Assistant Editor at Essence
Magazine. Both industry advisors are viewed as valuable assets to
BIDS’ latest venture as reality television casting consultants.
About the Show: BIDS interior designers will be considered the
"expert" on the value of remodeling a client's home. The designers
will work with local realtors during each show and may be given
on-air spots on several episodes. The production company is also
interested in featuring designers with homeowner clients who are
planning a remodeling project and would like to appear alongside
their designer.
Professional designer requirements are: Whole house remodeling
experience, Knowledge of cost estimating for remodeling construction
(labor and materials), Interior design experience and of course,
have great personality and attractive on camera. We are seeking

submit: a headshot, biography and at least (2) sample projects. Send
