MILLERSVILLE, Md., Apr. 16, 2008/Niermann Weeks/ --
Niermann Weeks, manufacturer and designer of to-the-trade home
furnishings, lighting and accessories, is pleased to announce that
R. Justin Binnix has been promoted to President. In this new
position, Mr. Binnix will oversee all company operations.
Of the appointment, Eleanor Niermann, VP of
Merchandising speaks for the family in saying: “As Eleanor McKay and
Joe Niermann refine their roles at Niermann Weeks, they along with
my sister Claire Niermann, VP of Production and I are thrilled to
pass on the duties of President to Mr. Binnix. Mr. Binnix has been
with the company for fifteen years. During that time he has held
supervisory positions in the production, design and finance
departments as well as becoming a close family friend. This
experience uniquely qualifies him for the role of company President
and we look forward to carrying on the tradition of Niermann Weeks
and growing the company with Mr. Binnix leading the way.”
Mr. Binnix began working for Niermann Weeks in 1991
where he worked in the prep department and steadily moved up within
the company to supervisory and management positions. Also during
this time Mr. Binnix began working side by side with founder and
product designer Joe Niermann on design development and opening the
companies to the trade showrooms. Mr. Binnix counts redesigning
Niermann Weeks lighting fixtures for UL approval and obtaining
process and design patents for various products as some of his best
achievements.
Mr. Binnix’ diverse education background includes Art,
Design, Architecture and Building Science. Prior to his career at
Niermann Weeks, Mr. Binnix was an engineer and quality control agent
for pre-cast concrete in the commercial construction industry.
On his new position Mr. Binnix states: “I would like to
extend a special thank you to the Niermann Family for their generous
support and trust”. Joe Niermann, Founder and Chairman of the Board
and Eleanor McKay, CEO have worked hard for the last thirty years to
make Niermann Weeks a leader in the industry. Having recently
handing over much of the day to day operations to their daughters,
Eleanor Niermann and Claire Niermann and now myself, I can say that
I am proud and excited at the trust they have bestowed upon me. My
goal as company President includes continuing Niermann Weeks quality
and reputation as an outstanding furnishings company.
Niermann Weeks designs borrow elements from the past and
reinterpret them to fit current lifestyles, aesthetically relating
to both traditional and contemporary interiors. Over 40 percent of
the Company’s business is custom-designed to meet the special needs
of professional architect and designer clients. The Niermann Weeks
