LANSING, Mich., May 7,
2008 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hold on to Your Home campaign -
a public service initiative sponsored by the City of
Lansing and Ingham County - was recently recognized by
the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC)
and the Central Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations
Society of America (PRSA) for excellence in
communication.
Hold on to Your Home received top honors from the NAGC,
taking first place in the combined Blue Pencil and
Golden Pen Award category - a category developed to
honor organizations across the country that have
achieved excellence in print and online communications.
In the organization's annual competition, the City of
Lansing and Ingham County were recognized for the
effective branding of the Hold on to Your Home campaign.
On the local level, the PRSA Central Michigan Chapter
awarded the Hold on to Your Home campaign its Award of
Excellence in the Public Service category for 2008.
Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing said, "We are
pleased with the success of the Hold on to Your Home
campaign. The resources provided through the program
have supplied invaluable support to residents facing
foreclosure." Schertzing continued, "We are also proud
of the recognition the program has received on the
national and local level and hope that this recognition
helps to inspire other communities to follow in the City
of Lansing and Ingham County's footsteps."
Created for the purpose of assisting in the prevention
of mortgage foreclosures, the Hold on to Your Home
campaign is designed to help residents in the City of
Lansing and Ingham County hold onto their piece of the
American dream - their home. The initiative is a safe
alternative to a number of predatory foreclosure
assistance scams. By logging onto

need can find experienced homeownership counselors who
are certified by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) and the Michigan State Housing
Development Authority (MSHDA).
