Artist Statement

“I used to think that I had no deep, introspective rationale as to what I painted. It seemed in the effort to paint, something was ‘passing me by’ … as it may be for so many of us? Several years ago, I took up running for exercise to help motivate me physically. But as I run, more and more, I am seeing things, that are right in front of me. I am noticing the incredible details in every day occurrences; constantly… flowers dancing or the mid day sky - in Technicolor. I’ve found motivation in a simple celebration of nature. It is all around me; in that life seems to deals us challenges, it is in nature that I am finding my inspiration, my reprieve…”


Biography

Zita Raymond graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in art in 1983. Zita has been involved in various aspects of the visual arts ever since. In 1990 she founded Zita Design; providing a wide range of murals, faux finishes and advanced decorative paintings in homes and businesses in Texas and throughout the United States. She returned to her own personal painting two years ago and has incorporated the fine art aspect into Zita Design. Her work and that of her company can be viewed at
