PRESS RELEASE 02-01-07

Golan's Lighting Designs Fuse Art and Engineering

ATLANTA, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Even though it is an integral part of brilliant interior design, many home owners and builders are still in the dark about the importance of professional lighting design. Yaacov Golan, president and owner of C Lighting, a 12,000 square foot independent lighting store in Atlanta's Buckhead retail district, wants to help consumers and interior design professionals sort through the many options available on the market today by providing them with the tools they need to make the right lighting decisions to create the best environment.

"First, we talk about what you want to accomplish in the space, what mood you wish to create, what activities take place there. Then, we'll talk about the functions of light such as ambience, task or display lighting, and how to layer light. We may not consciously realize it, but our perception of a room is completely dependent on its lighting -- it can make or break any space. Finally we talk about the tools that are available to you to create the effect you are looking for. We discuss the color and temperature of light, how to average the light and shadow in a room to prevent eyestrain, and how you can introduce flexibility in your lighting plan to allow for different uses."

Born and raised in Israel, Golan served seven years in the Israeli Navy as an electrical engineer. After designing the lighting for the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, he moved to the USA in 1994, and came to Atlanta in 1999. "I have always been aware of the importance of good lighting -- whether you are at work, in a museum or at home; to me it is an art to use technology to illuminate human life."

Golan would like to impress on today's designers and homeowners that it is perfectly fine to mix traditional with contemporary lighting solutions, and recommends that advanced technology and modern tools are used in conjunction with more traditional decorative lamps and chandeliers. His C Lighting showroom houses an incredible array of lamps, fixtures and spots representing any style from old world charm to high tech. "Don't be afraid to mix, but please don't sacrifice the quality and function of light to a decorative theme," Golan advises.

"Today, it is possible to create an outstanding lighting plan for your environment. We at C Lighting want to educate and supply our customers with the basic terminology and knowledge to make the right design decision, and our expertise is the perfect supplement to our outstanding product selection."

C Lighting is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and is located at 333 Buckhead Ave., Atlanta, GA 30305. Telephone number: (404) 760 1119, or visit the website: www.clighting.com.
