for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC) Announces New Board Member
SAN MARCOS, California, Feb. 9, 2007 /California Council for
Interior Design Certification/ -- Viveca Bissonnette,
Certified Interior Designer, LEED ® AP has been named to the Board
of the Directors of the California Council for Interior Design
Certification (CCIDC) as the International Interior Design
Association (IIDA) representative. She replaces Peni Wilson, who
served on the board for two years.
With over four years at Carrier Johnson, one of California’s leading
architecture and interior design firms, and fifteen years in
corporate America, Bissonnette brings a broad depth of experience to
the CCIDC board. She presently holds the title of San Diego City
Center Director for IIDA, Southern California Chapter. Bissonnette
is a member of the Art Institute of San Diego’s Program Advisory
Council as well as a member of IIDA’s Perspective magazine and
Interiors and Sources magazine Editorial Advisory Boards. In May of
2006, she was featured on the front cover of Interiors and Sources
magazine and participated as one of five judges in the Shaw Contract
Group “Design Is Award”, a national interior design competition. In
2004, Bissonnette was recognized as one of ten designers to watch in
the country as part of IIDA’s 10-year anniversary celebrations for
her project work, her service to the community, and her commitment
to professionalism.
The CCIDC is responsible for administering the requirements of the
Certified Interior Designers Law, under Chapter 3.9, Section 5800 of
the California Business and Professions code. The CCIDC Board of
Directors, consisting of seven Certified Interior Designers and four
Public Members, are appointed every three years. Public Board
Meetings are held three times a year in alternating areas of the
state. The CCIDC is a private non-profit organization that reports
to the Joint Committee on Boards, Commissions & Consumer Protection.
