AGI
Partners With Lighting Science Group to Jointly Develop
In-Store Fixtures and Displays
DALLAS, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- AGI In-Store (AGI), a leading designer and producer of
point of purchase displays for a broad range of industry
leaders, and Lighting Science Group Corporation (BULLETIN
BOARD: LSGP) (LSG), a leading provider of energy efficient and
environmentally responsible lighting solutions, have partnered
to jointly develop Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures for
AGI's in-store display units.
As part of this agreement,
LSG will provide AGI with LED lighting fixtures that will be
incorporated in AGI's fixture design and development process.
These fixtures will provide AGI with cost savings and extend
display life by employing LSG's efficient and low-heat
lighting solutions. LSG's engineering staff will work with
AGI's team of experienced designers and engineers to ensure
the seamless incorporation of these lighting fixtures into
powerful in-store display solutions.
Ron Lusk, chairman and chief
executive officer of Lighting Science, noted, "We are very
pleased to be partnering with AGI in what we believe will be a
long and mutually beneficial relationship. AGI is committed to
providing its customers with high quality, intuitive display
environments that are both efficient and user friendly."
Lusk continued, "Because AGI
conducts business with many of the major retail outlets, such
as Wal-Mart, Target and Origins, they bring to this
relationship tremendous insight and access to a valuable
customer base. We are confident that our reliable, durable and
cost effective LED fixtures will be highly complementary to
their current and future product offerings."
Steve Dopp, President of AGI
also commented, "AGI is constantly seeking solutions to
improve the customer experience. We view in-store fixtures as
an extension of the sales process and therefore design these
units to gain attention, improve the buying experience and
ultimately influence purchasing decisions. In addition, the
nature of our business is such that the technology that we use
should not damage or alter the appearance of the items being
displayed. It is therefore paramount that we minimize any
potential damage that may result from heat exposure, as our
retail fixtures and displays are often maintained for a long
period of time. Because LSG's LED lights provide a high
quality output of light that lasts 300-500 percent longer than
other lighting technologies, while using significantly less
energy, the formation of this partnership is a logical step
forward."
LSG is the first company to
market a high-output, dimmable, Edison-base white-LED light
bulb. The company currently has 25 patents and patents pending
in the LED lighting space and a product portfolio comprised of
30 different SKU's. Lasting up to 50 times longer than
incandescent light bulbs, LED bulbs typically pay for
themselves in less than two years and do not contain hazardous
materials such as mercury, commonly found in fluorescent and
compact fluorescent products.
