Nelsen Architects, Inc. in Austin Adds Partners, Takes New Name

Prominent Austin Architectural Firm Makes Shareholders of Long-time Members, Changes Name to Nelsen Partners

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Austin-area architectural firm Nelsen Architects, Inc. announced today that it is changing its name to Nelsen Partners to reflect the addition of three long-time members - Philip J. Crisara, George A. Melara and Erston Senger - as shareholders with Brad Nelsen, the founder and president. The change becomes effective immediately.

"Adding my three talented colleagues to the ownership structure of this firm reflects the reality that our organization's success has grown because of their outstanding teamwork and leadership on unique and innovative projects in Austin, Phoenix, the United States and the world," Nelsen said. "The new ownership structure will serve as a platform for the continuing growth and success of our firm as we strive to create memorable places that positively affect communities and people's lives. Phil, George and Erston embody Nelsen Partners' uncompromising commitment to excellence and service to our clients. They greatly deserve this recognition."

Nelsen Partners has offices in Austin and Scottsdale, with approximately 30 employees in each location to handle work around the United States for development of retail centers, office buildings, residential towers, resorts, restaurants and mixed-use projects.

Phil Crisara serves as executive vice president and Texas managing director. George Melara serves as vice president and Arizona managing director and Erston Senger serves as vice president and director of operations in the Arizona office.

Mr. Crisara was responsible for launching the firm's Austin office in 1996. His 21 years of design experience includes large-scale mixed-use retail and residential projects, office buildings, and more than 50 upscale restaurants located across the United States.

Mr. Melara, director of design in the Scottsdale office, is an award- winning architect with project experience that includes large-scale mixed use developments, high-rise residential, office buildings and complex renovation projects like the recently completed Biltmore Fashion Park.

Mr. Senger has overseen the documentation and completion of millions of square feet of commercial, retail, mixed-use, hotel, and residential development. He has and continues to manage the firm's most complex projects with great success.

Nelsen Architects is one of Austin's larger architectural firms with a local staff of 30 and more than 60 nationally. The firm works primarily in the private sector with major projects in Florida, South Carolina, Arizona and throughout Texas.
