Ongoing series and events to highlight unparalleled innovation of Italian design

New York, NY, May 14, 2007/ PROMOS/ -- PROMOS, the special agency of the Milan Chamber of Commerce for International Activities, is pleased to announce a series of Italian design exhibitions and events to open in conjunction with the 2007 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City. Organized in partnership with the Italian Trade Commision, Triennale di Milano, IULM University and CLAC, these limited-time exhibitions will bring the unparalleled excellence and innovation of Italian design to New York City’s Soho neighborhood. The International Contemporary Furniture Fair is scheduled for May 19-22, 2007.


PROMOS is proud to announce the following exhibitions and events:


INVITO A TAVOLA: table dressings and furnishing all’ Italiana


The INVITO A TAVOLA installation will display more than 200 unique glittering objects, from crystals to porcelain pieces: all “Made in Italy.” Created by the most famous Italian design companies located in Regione Lombardia, Italy’s heart of design and furniture, many pieces will be shown for the first time in the United States.


The exhibit will feature ten tables “dressed” in ten different Italian styles, and will feature objects created by 70 Italian Designers and more than 40 companies. .


Promoted by the Ministry of International Commerce of Italy, Regione Lombardia, The Italian Trade Commission and PROMOS, INVITO A TAVOLA has the patronage of Triennale di Milano and IULM Milano.

LOMBARDIA 100% DESIGN


Lombardia 100% Design is an exhibition “which has its feet on the ground, but its head in the clouds.” Highlighting the icons of Italian furniture design, produced from the 1950s to the present day, the pieces in the LOMBARDIA 100% DESIGN exhibit represent the best of modern design.


Manufacturers and companies represented in the exhibition range from the long-standing and established to smaller companies that nevertheless share an enlightened approach to furniture design. Furnishings by Artemide, B&B Italia, Cappellini, Cassina, BOFFI, Flexform, Luceplan, Poliform and Zanotta will all be featured.

ARTE IN RETE: design made by artisans

Promoted by Regione Lombardia, the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Lombardia and Promos-Milan Chamber of Commerce, the ARTE IN RETE exhibition brings the finest design objects of eleven artisans to Soho.

This exhibition gives artisans an opportunity to present their products, offering hand made ideas from a group of emerging companies.
