The Brookwood
A Refreshing New Way
to Enjoy Life in Atlanta's Ideal Neighborhood
Condominium Homes
Designed For Luxury Living From the Inside Out
Priced from the $500s to
over $1 million
ATLANTA, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/
-- The Brookwood will be a stylish new address in one of
Atlanta's most prestigious communities. Located on Peachtree
Road between 28th Street and Palisades, The Brookwood will be
the first luxury condominium residence in the heart of
Brookwood, providing walking access to Brookwood Hills and
Ardmore Park, as well as to the shops and dining district
surrounding this vibrant part of Peachtree Road. Construction
is now underway on the 20 story building that will include 219
luxury condominium homes and signature penthouses ready for
occupancy in the summer of 2009. The homes at The Brookwood
will be offered from the $500s to over $1 million.
"We intentionally chose this
location along Peachtree because we believe its scale,
extensive retail offerings, and surrounding historic
neighborhoods offer the opportunity for The Brookwood to be at
the center of what will become one of the most walkable and
pedestrian friendly sections of Peachtree," said Mark Riley,
principal developer for The Brookwood. "We put a premium on
exceptional architecture and great streetscapes with the goal
of having the project relate to and improve the existing urban
fabric."
"We believe the exceptional
architecture and space planning will help create long-term
value for our homeowners," added Riley. "Therefore, we
challenged our architects and designers to push the envelope
-- and instead of designing a building that people fit into --
we asked our team to start with the lifestyle of busy,
professional people and design a building that functions for
them. The process began by studying and understanding the way
successful people want to enjoy urban living, and then we used
these criteria to meet design objectives," explained Riley.
For residents of The
Brookwood this translates into large living spaces that
visually open to the outside and maximize each home's
floorplan; five- star luxuries and amenities designed as
integral components of the building; a sustainable design that
provides healthy and resource-efficient living inside and
outside each home; and most importantly, The Brookwood creates
a personal refuge that combines the vibrancy of city life with
an oasis of calm and casual elegance.
The Brookwood's Distinctive
Architecture & Interior Design
Located at 1820 Peachtree
Road, The Brookwood is destined to become the focal point of
this charming, in-town neighborhood that retains community
life reminiscent of a time when people walked to the store and
knew their neighbors by name. The architecture of The
Brookwood blends with the gracious surroundings of the
neighborhood -- an area of 1920's and 30's brick and stone
buildings and meticulously restored classic Southern homes and
towering trees. Designed by world renowned architects,
Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates of Atlanta,
The Brookwood's façade incorporates red brick above a
cast-stone base in the tradition of Georgian style
architecture inspired by Neel Reid's Brookwood Train Station.
Cornices and other details create a strong expression of base,
middle and top which recalls period buildings in a
contemporary manner. Broad bays at the base of The Brookwood
are designed to accommodate retail shops and a signature
restaurant, as well provide opportunities for signage, awnings
and other pedestrian inviting elements. Stately
floor-to-ceiling windows and large terraces add to the
architectural statement while providing residents of The
Brookwood with panoramic views and an outdoor connection to
the neighborhood. In addition, The Brookwood also features a
private garden terrace of almost an acre which includes a
pool, specimen gardens, clubhouse, gazebo, and outdoor summer
kitchen.
Inside, each home is uniquely
designed to maximize the living space and take advantage of
natural light. Spacious floorplans for two and three bedroom
homes range from 1200 to 2900 square feet, plus larger
signature homes and penthouses. By turning a traditional
floorplan by 90 degrees, the designers have expanded the
amount of naturally lit space in each home. Sight lines are a
key consideration so that most homes offer a direct view from
the point of entry to the windows -- visually linking the
interior to the exterior. The floorplans incorporate the core
space for living, dining and cooking with all other spaces
radiating from this central focus. These key areas constitute
the hub of the home and are intentionally designed as zones
rather than rooms to provide expanded space. This 'radius'
approach to the architecture eliminates wasted hallway space
and jogs in walls providing a visually clean and inviting
space.
An Amenity Rich Environment
Life at The Brookwood will
include its own exclusive membership club -- The Brookwood
Club. Like any fine social club, The Brookwood Club will

chores as well as provide five-star hotel type services such

-- A community woodworking and craft room
