Architectural Digest to Hold Nationwide Open Auditions for Design Professionals and Non-Pros, Kicking Off at Annual Decoration & Design Building Fall Market Event

Subsequent Open Auditions in Florida, California and Texas with Winner's Design to be Published in Architectural Digest

NEW YORK, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Architectural Digest, the preeminent international design magazine, will hold a series of open auditions for residential interior design professionals and non-professionals alike, it was announced today by Paige Rense, Editor in Chief. The two-day kick off search for new design talent will take place during the Decoration and Design (D&D) Building's annual Fall Market, Wednesday, Oct. 10 and Thursday, Oct. 11, 9:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. Subsequent Architectural Digest Open Auditions will take place at the Design Center Of The Americas Winter Market (Dania Beach, Florida), the Pacific Design Center Westweek Market (West Hollywood, California) and the Design Center Houston Spring Market (Houston, Texas). At the conclusion of the events, one winning design will be chosen by a panel of senior AD editors and published in the magazine. The four design centers are owned and managed by Charles S. Cohen, President/CEO of Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation.

"I'm delighted to give anyone with a passion and a talent for design a forum to meet AD editors face to face and show them their work." Said Ms. Rense. "Architectural Digest is always searching for new and innovative talent in design and architecture, and our sponsorship of the D&D Building's fall market is a perfect time and place to launch our nationwide search."

Ms. Rense invites professionals and nonprofessionals alike to bring photos of a completed residential project. Participants should bring photos (no disks or transparencies) that should include two shots (maximum) of each of the major rooms in the residence. They should be prepared to leave the portfolio behind. The editorial panel will choose semi-finalists from each of the nationwide design center markets. The editors will select one winner's designs to appear both in an issue of the magazine and the website (www.ArchitecturalDigest.com). Additionally, semi-finalists' work from each Market Event will be posted on the AD website so that the public can vote on their favorite design.

Architectural Digest Open Auditions will take place at all four design centers' market events:

  * The D&D Building Fall Market on October 10 and 11, 2007 in New York, NY
  * The DCOTA Winter Market 2008 on January 29 and 30 in Southeastern FL
  * The PDC Westweek Market on March 26 and 27, 2008 in West Hollywood, CA
  * The DCH Spring Market day will take place on May 6, 2008 in Houston, TX
