GMOA At Table
ATLANTA, Georgia, August 21, 2007 /Georgia Museum of Art/ --
On October 19-20, 2007 an exclusive group of designers will be
invited to create table settings that showcase their talents
in an unprecedented way — as part of an exhibition of design
at the Georgia Museum of Art.
GMOA at Table is inspired by Frances Schultz, author and
former host of Turner South's "Southern Living Presents." Ms.
Schultz has contributed articles to many publications,
including Town & Country and Veranda, and has written two
books about Atlanta, Atlanta at Home and Atlanta at Table. As
part of GMOA at Table, Ms. Schultz will host a lecture about
decoration and design at 11 a.m. and will be available to sign
copies of Atlanta at Table and A House in the South.
Vicente Wolf is one of the nation's most celebrated designers.
Named one of of the most influential designers in the United
States by House Beautiful and elected to Interior Design
magazine's Designer Hall of Fame, Wolf is also an accomplished
author. He will give a lecture at 2 p.m. and sign copies of
Crossing Borders: A Global Vision of Design.
Several internationally known designers, including Carole
Weaks, Ryan Gainey and Carolyn Tanner, will create table
settings. Designers will have the rare opportunity to exhibit
their tables within the galleries and event spaces of the
Georgia Museum of Art.
The preview party on October 19 will feature a silent auction,
where designers will be able to select items from their table
designs to include in the auction. The exhibition will be open
for public viewing throughout the day on October 20.
